Hitch-Biking adventure through the Levantine - Eric Koert (NL-JP) Přednáška v Aj
Stories of Adventures during a journey, beginning in Turkey, then moving through the Levant with Eric, Alexis and Theo.
You never know what will happen when you enter unknown realms. And that is what is called adventure. To jump in and to learn to swim, as essentially happens with all of us when we step into this world. When speaking of the magic in that time i can still feel the intense sense of freedom that filled me when we would take our bikes and move into the darkness, on to new adventures and stories to be told.
This is a story of the Syria of 2009/2010. from before the wars.
My initial goal was to travel alone, learning about Arabic, Arabian culture and Islam in the course of my journey. I never guessed that I would meet 2 new friends along the way (Theo&Alexis), who helped me make it into one of my greatest adventures as of yet.
Our track begins in southern Turkey, from Adana down to Antakya, across the Syrian border.
In Syria we moved to Latakya, Homs(now destroyed), to the desert oasis Palmyra (Tedmur in Arabic), and then through the desert on to Damascus .
We enter Lebanon to visit Beirut and then move on through Syria to Jordan. Eventually we leave Jordan by boat to Egypt.
I will take my time to recount the main events of our journey and I will attempt to take you along with me to revisit my precious memories of this journey. :)
Afterwards, we can perhaps arrange a question and answer time.
